From Majorettes to Macy’s Documentary
For my senior thesis, I directed and produced a documentary chronicling the history of the Carolina Coquettes.
This project has been the ultimate labor of love, a culmination of 3 semesters of work and 65 years of rich history.
I worked independently on every aspect of the project, from researching in university archives and conducting interviews with alumni from as far back as the early 70s, to filming, editing, and promoting the final piece. The goal was to preserve tradition and celebrate evolution, showcasing the integral role the team has played within the Carolina Band for generations.
Advertising
Below is a poster I created to advertise my documentary as if it was airing across the country in movie theaters. I wanted it to have a vintage feel with a modern touch, which I accomplished through adding textures and bold typefaces. You’ll also see a short trailer I edited for the Coquettes social media platforms to get our audience excited to see the final documentary. This was super fun to make, especially to see the comments under the post!

I worked independently on every aspect of the project, from researching in university archives and conducting alumni interviews spanning 54 years of Coquettes, to filming, editing, and promoting the final piece.
From the first idea in August 2024 to my official thesis defense in April 2025, I sincerely hope you enjoy it, I know I do!
