Carolina Coquettes Social Media

As the Social Media Chair for the Carolina Coquettes, I redefined our branding and introduced a new content strategy that highlighted our team’s spirit, talent, and
tradition in a fresh, engaging way.

For the three month period ending April 2025, the Carolina Coquettes Instagram account has grown by 3.6%, gaining 585 new followers and reaching a total of 8,058. During this period, our content reached over 41,000 accounts and generated nearly 349,000 views. Engagement was split between 64% followers and 36% non-followers, clear evidence that our reach is expanding and gaining strong traction.

So, how did I make that happen?

Strategy & Process

When I inherited the role of Social Media Chair for the Carolina Coquettes as a rising junior, I was met with low engagement, a really tragic 2017 Tezza filter and not much else. My goal was to elevate the Coquettes’ online presence to match the team’s talent and energy, while also making the page a reliable source for information, promotion, and community building.

From June 2023 to April 2025, I handled everything from content creation and editing to planning seasonal content calendars, saving inspiration, and developing a cohesive brand kit. I drew inspiration from USC’s official branding, the aesthetics of other collegiate and pro dance teams, and added my own sleek, fun, and athletic twist. Through lots of trial and error, I shaped the page into a what you see here: a clean, approachable, and consistent representation of who we are.

IG Reels

I knew video content was the most effective way to showcase our team—after all, dance is visual entertainment!

Here are some reels I’ve filmed, edited and produced for the Coquettes Instagram, including a score prediction game, a brand collaboration with Alani Nu energy drinks, and a viral “how we’re going to bed tonight” gameday reel that has over 244k views!
